Founded by Pauline Carretta, / Carretta – A Gallery Project stands at the crossroads of contemporary art, design, craft, and architecture. Its mission is to champion and support artists whose practices explore the subtle relationships between material, gesture, and the living world. Here, art is not only exhibited — it is experienced, inhabited, and felt.

Pauline Carretta’s curatorial approach is guided by a conviction: material — whether raw, transformed, or elevated — remains one of the most fertile engines of contemporary creation. The gallery weaves dialogues between painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, weaving, photography, and hybrid works, intentionally blurring the lines between what is born from nature and what emerges from crafted artifice.

Each presentation is conceived not as a simple display, but as an immersive encounter. Suspension, tactile scenography, light interplay, contrasts between material and gesture — the gallery encourages a different relationship to the artwork: sensory, intimate, contemplative.
VISION & BACKGROUND

After completing dual studies in business school and at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales in Paris, Pauline began her career at Maison & Objet, before joining APR, where she quickly became a key figure. Appointed Global Director, she contributed to the international recognition of now-established designers and architects, while overseeing strategic initiatives and the development of the agency, including its London office.

In 2021, driven by the desire to support creative talent over time and foster meaningful bridges across disciplines, she founded her own agency — dedicated to showcasing artists and projects where art intersects with luxury, hospitality, and architecture.

Today, the Pauline Carretta agency supports a dozen emerging and established talents in the creation, development, and dissemination of singular artistic projects. Her approach combines artistic direction, strategic advisory, communication, influence, and high-level matchmaking.

A CURATORIAL IDENTITY: REVEALING THE SOUL OF MATERIALS

Whether through bespoke artistic collaborations with luxury houses, or via / Carretta – A Gallery Project, Pauline champions an aesthetic in which creation emerges from sensitivity and embodiment.

Sculpted paper, wool lace, engraved wood, mineral pigments, ceramics, weaving, revived ancestral techniques — materials speak. They become language, memory, territory.
